THEORY

  • Basic principles of lasers and an introduction to phototherapy
  • Wavelength and interaction with the skin
  • Chromophores: melanin, haemoglobin and water
  • Selective photothermolysis
  • IPL, DIODE, YAG — clinical indications for each technology
  • Classification of lasers and safety protocols
  • Contraindications, Fitzpatrick skin types and informed consent

PRACTICAL SESSION

  • Equipment demonstration
